TruckersMP is a persistent server without AI traffic, supporting several thousand players at once. Convoy is a player hosted mode with all normal game features but limited to 8 players. TruckersMP you are at the mercy of the staff and other players in terms of getting a good experience or not and no AI traffic makes many parts of the map
Step 2) Log in with your steam login details to verify that you own the game and can play multiplayer. Step 5) Run Euro Truck Simulator 2 Multiplayer, select the server you wish to join and start the game (EU server is by far the most populated usually at around 3000 players compared to 400 on the US server).
It has a decently large map now (huge compared to first release, and also bigger than any other driving game to date other than ETS2 as far as i know). It also has great detail, they just added new AI and they are about to release a new DLC. Of course, if you still don't have enough, there are plenty of good mods. #8.
Not to mention having to remove all your mods, create a seperate profile, etc, etc, etc. MP is just to much of a PITA as it stands presently if it changes then I may change my mind aswel but for now I have zero interest in MP. Convoy, the official multiplayer from SCS Software, is now built directly into the main Euro Truck Simulator 2 game. Yes, that means it's not an external mod and will continue to be developed and maintained by SCS Software themselves.
