Keep backstabbing him. His moves can be easily dodged by just walking sideways. 23 isn't that low. Dark souls is more weapons than level. wait for him to attack, side step, go behind him and backstab, for the ones that are newbies to make things faster grab any weapon with bleed effect and have fun.

This is the best backstab any souls game had by far, truly the best of both worlds. Happy to see that from finally came up with a solution, you know what I think ? This is thanks to that awesome guy that worked on dark souls 2, that guy who really listened to the comunity and made PVP a priority (for better or worse).
Dark Souls is as much of a mind game as a weapons based game. Guard break: Ah guard break one of the worst commands in gaming history but with one of the best uses of all time. For all who don't know, when you do a guard break, you stagger an enemy and leave them open for a critical attack.
