I buyed the game today on Steam (Sales) and I'm unable to play on multiplayer securised server because of Punkbuster The version in "Steam\SteamApps\common\Call of Duty 4\PB\" not list Call of Duty 4 ? I can't update the punkbuster 2.7 to last version I get error, I manually down-loaded and added the 3.8 but I can't add "Cod4" in "Add game".
not that they are good. its that a server bans a player and submits to punkbuster. then punkbuster updates all servers that use them and that player is now banned from all servers that use punkbuster. but as stated you can find great servers that dont use punkbuster that have active admin that will ban hackers/cheaters as they join.
How to enable Punkbuster? 1. Start > search programs and files > regedit 2. Open that then right click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then click find 3. Search for 'codkey' no caps no spaces without the apostrophes 4. What comes up is your key code, open up cod4 and go options > multiplayer options > enter key
